A great looking Lancair powered by a Walter turbine landing with only the nose gear half extended at Jandakot Airport in Western Australia. Only a phone camera video. Thankfully the pilot escaped unharmed but I'm sure there'd be some serious damage to the aircraft. Propeller blades did hit repeatedly and curled the tips. Fire and Emergency crews were waiting and were on the scene less than a minute after the aircraft comes to a stop. The pilot could not have done a better job at setting the plane down.

  • Mate - copybook landing as always - best you hurry up and fix it so I can come fly with you.

  • Was an awesome effort, he sounded calm over the radio on approach. Was good to watch from the viewing area. Looked like the emergency vehicles were going to run him over after he jumped out.
