I had a golden opportunity to participate in this bhajan at Alangudi with Jayarama Bhagawathar with another bagawathar Ravi. We both travelled all the way from Andanallur (Trichy) by two wheeler. . I never miss kovai anna's bhajan as needless to say he is top in the bhajan field and by his scintillating performance he is blessed with the talent of keeping the audience intact till the end of every program. No, they are not related to Thanjavur Marathis There is no wonder in your finding this rendering incredible as the artist Sri.Kovai Jayaraman is one among the top rated bhajan singers from Tamil Nadu. Sampradhaya bhajan includes songs from various languages. One among them is what you have watched, the abhangs from Maharashtra. You will be further suprised if you listen to this artist's release "Mukhim Nam Sadha" where good collection of Marathi abhangs are found.
