Hello Norman. My Mum and Dad had a shop on Moor lane, Osbaldeston Fishing Tackle and Newsagents, Jo Finney was my Dad's best friend and we called Tom uncle Tom, Their shop was a few doors away from us.

This originally aired in '87 or' 88, IIRC. I don't know if I agree w/the Barnes-was-like-Finney thing. Aside from both being able to play left wing; they had very different attacking styles, IMO.

Tom Finney gave me a pair of football boots when I was 9 years old, he was a great friend of my Dad, and i used to bang a ball up against the wall of his plumbing shop for hours on end and he never once told me to stop. A great man and a great player. Lot's of great memories there.
