On the same day I shot the Uzi, I also rented a Sten Gun. This was another pleasant and accurate full auto gun.

  • Hey i have a question if anyone is willing to enlighten me. I have a friend that has a couple of Stens for sale. FULLY AUTOMATIC. What kind of price are these selling for now a days? I know guns but am not up to date on fully auto stuff. Not really my bag due to all the red tape BS. But it seems they are a very cheap alternative to a fully auto AK, AR, M16 or anything else i would prob pick first, if it were not for the price. Anyway, any idea would be appreciated. Thanks!

  • @dqreps If these are pre-86 registered guns then he could get anywhere from $5000 to $8000 for each one. This depends a lot on condition. The lowest I've ever heard of one selling for was $2000 and that was from someone desperate for money.

  • @Obinjess Thanks for the info. Its much appreciated. His asking price (without me dickering with him yet, at this point) is 5kea. I have not seen them yet and am not sure if i want them but i am trying to educate myself on these so i can make a good decision. Do you have any advice/info i should be aware of if i get into these. Pros/cons etc? Also, what if they are NOT pre-86? How does that change things..ie price etc? Thanks again my freind.

  • @dqreps In all honesty if you are a collector of WWII commando guns then get it but there are other guns you can get for less money that are simply better machines. A Reising M50 is a better gun than the Sten and it's $4,000 or less. The Sten is a crude gun that was built for a purpose and its time has passed. I would happily pay $2,000 for one but $5,000 is just too much for such a rough and simple gun.

  • is this gun well accurate?

  • @albin43211 It is not inherently accurate like a modern submachine gun but I could still hit everything I was aiming for. The fact that it was a 9mm with a heavy bolt made it easy to control. I think the effective range would be 75 meters or less. After that distance the sights made it tough to accurately shoot. You could hit something further than 75 meters but the gun would need a better sighting system.

  • It costs less then a good pair of shoes and was used on every continent the brits were stationed in WWII, sometimes simple is better.

  • @Obinjess Come on! I could buy a desert eagle and have 500$ left over for that price! I know where to get one for $160, But I am not going to tell anyone where until later.

  • Für den GARTEN sauber zu halten.)) YES

  • @SgtBuzzob Oh unless you mean cheaper to make than a pair of shoes cost back in the thoes days. Then yea probably..

  • @SgtBuzzob Less than a good pair of shoes? I dont think so. They go for anywhere from 3,800 up to 5,000 for the mk2's. Where do you get your shoes from? damn
