This is a photo presentation about a man/machine love/hate relationship. It was my dream car, and five years later I'm just waking up from a nightmare that lasted eight years...

  • Ba, ha,ha. My father was always a Chysler man. When I was a kid he used to buy big ole New Yorkers to haul a horse trailer to the sulky races. He was a horse trainer.

  • Big old Chryslers were great tow vehicles as long as you added an extra leaf or two and coil-over shocks to the rear suspension... They were just a bit weak in the rear spring department, but otherwise they were excellent cars... I have owned two of them :)

  • any cadillac"s from the 80' to 90' if you keep the "TPS" & "ISC" adjusted your cadillac will always drive like a dream. also keeping up on fluids

  • Fluids are important for just about any car... More recently I have been having better luck with 80s and 90s Chryslers than with 60s Cadillacs...

  • was this your first cadillac you ever drove? becasue if it was, leason learned,if you buy another, now you know what too look for,& expect.

  • This was my first Cadillac. I know what to look for and expect now, but I also can't afford to buy one anymore :)

  • Cars are money pits, especially collector cars.

    Still, a beauty for sure.

  • @fehquig the first cadillac is always the hardest, but i also think that 60's cadillac's are more problematic then say 74's & UP

i have to respect that you followed your cadillac dreams, its really cool!

  • @fehquig well thats good, cadillac's are good,im 20 & my first car was a 87 cadillac eldo, i still drive it,it hasnt gave me any problems. a cadillac serivice shop told me that 80's & 90's will run forever! if you stay up on the throtle position sensor, and idle speed control. So when i bought my cadi, the first thing i replaced was those two very very important parts to the transaxle.

  • I can imagine!
