This video demonstrates my daughter Lily reading at 24 months old. She began sight reading at around 14 months old and started sounding out words phonetically at 19.5 months old.

  • Not at all! The young they are, the easier it is to learn from a brain development point of view. You can google "Brillkids Blog" and click on the result that says "Common Criticisms of teaching early reading. It's one of the best things we ever did for our kids! They offer a free two week trial of reading software that is great. I know ppl with two year old's that started it and recognized words in a week! Also, a friend's 2 yr old learned letter sounds in 2 weeks from LeapFrog videos! GL.
