why does everyone think humbert loved her? reading the book, i get the sense that he really was just sexually attracted to her. if he loved her, he would've put her needs over his. idk if it was depicted in this movie, but in the book she cried every night after intercourse. She's a seriously damaged child because of him. In what world is that love?

Has anyone tried to see this from Lolita's POV? She probably thinks it's all a big game, she gets dragged around by her stepdad whom she has a crush on, he seems to blow up on things that seem trivial to her, he keeps ordering her to hide and not reveal herself and she's just starting to experience how sex is a powerful tool and it seems to make guys behave very nicely to her and get what she wants.
We are seeing this story from Humbert's POV, where he justifies himself and demonises Lolita.

I can''t help but feel sorry for Humbert but at the same time glad that he may get in trouble....he is the adult here and doing something wrong but on the other hand he loves her and she is sort of like the one to came onto him in the first place. . . hmmmmmmmmm lol love the movie the complex characters and the plot is great :)
