http://www.euronews.net/ Cyprus went drilling for gas in September, partnered up with the US firm Noble Energy, from Texas. Nicosia has high hopes for its exclusive economic zone, though that exclusivity is open to question.
Last year's new find in the Cyprus-Israel-Lebanon triangle piqued Leviathan appetites all around, including the self-proclaimed Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and Ankara, which is the only capital which recognises the North. It is not just about possibly striking it rich but about politics.
Big compensations in 13 Greekcypriots that were deprived their fortunes in possessed afterwards the Turkish invasion the '74, it adjudged the Court of Human Rights.

EU is miserable? Why then Egemen Bagis and Erdogan insist on full accession of Turkey in EU?
37% of Cyprus is still occupied by Turkey since invasion in 1974,condemned by all UN members(UN resolutions) and Turkey should feel miserable for that and for other reasons(Marmara Ship 2010,killing of 35 kurdish civilians 2011,etc)
The role of TMT in CY?(Foreing Office)
Even Rauf Dentktas admitted the bombing of the Turkish Consulate in CY to blame the GreekCypriots(Brit TV 1984)

@joshjazant3 Are the stupid, racist (and meaningless) comments really necessary?.
outsidelight1 1 month ago
@fan4fun4ever Unfortunately, not any more. Turkey does not have the same enthusiam for it these days. The EU keeps changing the goal posts and stringing the Turks along. The EU, on tghis topic as on so many others, is led by the xenephobic and parochial interests of its more stubborn members. Cyprus is half a country by choice of Greek Cypriots...The EU is extremely misreable right now...so Erdogan's comments would seem to be accurate.
