Here's another fact. Guess what was their highest rated segment has been? 1999, Mick Foley and The Rock segment, 'This is your life' which was about The Rock. Almost 20 minutes of nothing to do with wrestling and it is the most watched segment. As for mic skills, The Rock was above the rest? Why? Because he sold it better than anyone else. Some of his promos don't even make sense but it is the way he delivers, interacts and get's the crowd involved that set him apart. He was the 'Peoples' champ.

You know why you argument fails? Because you marked out when The Rock came back Valentine's Day 2011. You know why The Rock is greatest on the mic? Because he damn near got you in tears because of laughing so much while cutting his promo like no other. You know why The Rock is the greatest of all time? Because wrestling fans who have missed every episode of RAW for the last SEVEN years will be pre-ordering WrestleMania because they heard that THE ROCK is back.

my beef with The Rock is not that he uses a lot of catch phrases, it's that most of his catch phrases were ripped off from other wrestlers, but I still respect the guy. Monoxide said that Rock uses a lot of catchphrases like Cena, and I agree, but Cena's catchphrases are mostly tired cliches that were around before the bible

And I'm not trying to lessen what Austin has achieved, far from it. He has earned the accolades he has gotten. It just erks me the wrong way when people try and lessen what the Rock has achieved when comparing the two. Rock is no Austin, just as Austin is no Rock. The two are the greatest of the Attitude era.
Comparing Rock to Cena is like comparing apple to oranges. Two diferent gimmicks. One has more swag than the other. By a country mile.

Seriously, the numbers are out there in regards to ratings and merchandise but it's the way Vince has sold Austin which has the perception that Rock is somewhat inferior. Of course Vince is going to promote the safe bet in Austin because he is still with the company, working in WWE movies whereas Dwayne is doing his own thing in the big league, Hollywood. And whoever has an idea about what kind of man Vince is, he doesn't like to lose control of any of his 'proteges'.

Here's another thing about the Rock. Austin had a measuring stick in Hogan because of the similar things they did to help the company become number 1 again. The Rock has no one that can be measured to him in the way his character was portrayed. His charisma, style hasn't been done before. People are going to argue to high heavens with that but I won't. It's plain for all to see. The brahma bull tattoo and eye brow are Dwayne, not Rock but yet he manages to sell it like it was Rock all this time.
Crazymike, Undertaker just said that if MMA was as big as it was 20 years ago he would do that and not wrestling. Since you want to bash The Rock for saying that you might as well bash The Undertaker, If you dont then you already know what you are. He really did say it and its on video.

Ehh...any rational thinking person wouldn't think that The Rock would have been successful in MMA..not sure why you had to address any idiots who would say that..
I agree with the Rock sounding like bandwagon bitch for claiming that he would roll with MMA if it was as big, but keep in mind, he was at a MMA EVENT when saying this. Also, why do you have a problem with him going by his real name? He would be type cast if he went by "The Rock". I don't see the point of this, guy...

"Also, why do you have a problem with him going by his real name?"-Don't have an issue with it.-lol
"The Rock essentially got HIMSELF over"
That's half true. It takes two parties to have someone get over in almost all business. The details as to why that is, is in the vid.

Hey mike love the vids just my opinion 1st how can you compare Rock,s Career that started in the 90s in the so called attitude era to Flair,s career witch started in the early 70s 2nd The Rock was a Miami Hurricane but lacked pro football talent I think wrestling was his back up plain. Look wrestling for the better part is just a job and like anybody else when a better one comes along you take it and you don't look back. You've never gotten a better job then said fuck that other one.

Going from working at a burger king to a cooperate office is completely different. Remember the entertainment business is different. Without "The E" there would be no movie career. So because he no longer want to acknowledge his past, that's why many fans (Not including myself cause I don't care-lol) are mad at him.
