Featuring Patrice Rushen. This is a more complete version of a video already on this site, which says it's at the Montreux Jazz Festival in 1988. If anyone knows any more about this performance and the musicians please add comments.

  • I bought the DVD which is very good but this track starts at the end of Shorter's first sax solo!!! I can only guess the master got damaged and couldn't be used.

  • For me, this is a great DVD .. however, IMHO it also serves to show Santana's jazz limitations when placed in a set up with the likes of Ms Rushen, Leon "Ndugu" Chancler & Wayne Shorter .. their performances make this gig

  • I disagree, I love Santana's playing, and for me the least good thing about this performance is Rushen's - it goes on and on and isn't that remarkable.

  • This is definately from the "Live at Montreux Jazz Festival'88 DVD". A great DVD - if you have it, please also post "Deeper, Dig Deeper"

  • I taped this from a TV broadcast around 1989 - I had no idea it was available on DVD. Thanks for telling me, I'm looking on Amazon!

  • How can you say Santana doesn't fit in when it is mostly his band playing anyway including the great Armando Perez. Silly.

  • @abadlypackedkebab i love love santana's playing. always. & wayne shorter.....man o man. yes.

  • A rare occurrence, a band full of masters..and monsters on their instruments...I tell everybody about this concert...bought the disk last year and was blown away...especially Ngudu Chancler...but it's really hard to single anyone out...all tremendous....

  • @abadlypackedkebab

He didn´t say he dislikes Santana´s playing. I agree that Santana isn´t a jazz/fusion guitarist because his abilities are limited.

  • Perfect, the three are mixing so well. Super Super Super.

  • Cool

  • That's ok! She's was a beast at this gig on the regular keys!

  • worst pitch bends ever on that keytar sax and santana were brutal though

  • good battle!
