@Pieh0 You sir, are a gentleman and a scholar - correct in this matter, you were.

1 hour video! fuck!

I surely hope so. In any case, I just bought a second 80GB PS3 - just in case, but if they manage to hack the Slim, I'll buy one of those for sure.
It's very refreshing to see that there are still people out there who understand code to assembler level. Most of the Java nuts I meet (who insist that in the future, everything will be written in Java) can't even understand C, let alone something as insidious as 32-bit vs. 64-bit compare instructions.
Very interesting presentation!

native linux on the PS3 without the hypervisor is the future.

Did anyone end up recognizing the four books that Michael Steil talks about at the picture shown starting at 42:02? I could only make out the top one, Mac OS X Internals.
-
Yea i want it too
-
does anybody know where I can get the chart that he shows in the video showing how long it took for the devices to be hacked ?
-
Excellently informative. Presentation well done considering the english is obviously second language. Very intelligent people.

I'm almost glad i'm not that smart. I'd be forced to be even more complete geek than I am. I almost enjoy not understanding anything they say.
Apparantly not, as Sony removed the "Other OS" support from the PS3 slim.

that people could develop what they wanted freely for xbox, no payments would be needed, free apps like linux, xna doesnt count because its just games, they wont allow emulators to be developed on that for xbox
