the teacher is not being rude at all, just 'strict', this kind of teacher is at the same time a 'gentle giant' and he will give praise to the student when 'it is due' and when it comes it will feel like the best gift in life to that student, one that's not taken for 'granted' and one he will remember 'forever' and cherish. Also this kind of teacher is indeed one who will show respect indeed all of the time (my teacher does), just because he corrects mistakes does not mean he de-respects me

what this 'great teacher' is doing with this 'great student' here is 'not' insulting the student nor mistreating him in any way....please...some of you don't understand I think, I have a teacher just like this and I owe him my own weight in gold (and I weigh a LOT! LOL), what the teacher is merely doing is not letting this student get away with the slightest 'hair' of imperfection in every millisecond of his playing and in every slight movement he makes. It is called 'be cruel to be kind' :)

This footage is an unbelievable miracle!!! So glad I heard Vadim Repin and met him in person at Symphony Hall in Boston, Massachusetts a few years ago. Teachers have great influence! What a perfectionist his teacher Zakar Bron is. This attitude is needed when helping students reach their full potential.
