Senator John McCain (R-Ariz.) leveled a middle-earth 'sting' to GOP lawmakers who do not back Rep. John Boehner's (R-Ohio) debt ceiling proposal by referencing the 'Lord Of The Rings' trilogy from a WSJ editorial.

I wouldn't call Hobbits republicans, or democrats. I don't believe they really cared for politics so i would say they are neither. they might be closest to hippies though.

@TominatorJ But being a congressman IS being a welfare recipient. They don't have term limits so some of them have a job for life because the kind of people who vote for them are more afraid of change and progress than they are of sitting in their own past mistakes and ultimate mess of a result. Insanity is described as "Repeating the same action over and over, each time expecting a different result." Supply side spending doesn't work? OK, try it harder next time." @hellomoto12354 1940 to 1980 was Reagan's responsibility? He was an actor and a figure head. He used the Berlin Wall as a photo op. That speech about MR. Gorbachov, etc. was staged That decision had been made six months before he went to the U.S.S.R. in a NATO Conference.

@RuthlessMcToothless He was able to recant everything he said on Fox News later that night on Hannity. That is the part where it doesn't matter if he tells the truth as long as he can go on Fox News later and lie so he doesn't lose the Tea Party Votes even though he just called them out for being idiots and they are stupid enough to keep watching FOX and believing nonsense and voting for people who consider them idiots.
