I have added English titiles to this song.

The words in Afrikaans:

Boer en sy roer. Anton Myburgh

Sit jou hand op die ploeg
in die son sal jy swoeg
want die Boer en sy roer word nooit moeg

Cho
want die Boer en sy roer word nooit moeg om te ploeg
as hy staan, staan hy sterker as 'n rots
sit jy kettings om sy taal
sal die duiwel jou kom haal
los sy grond, jy speel met 'n bom se lont

Boer maar voort Boereseun,
niemand sal jou grond kom neem
want die Boer en sy roer word nooit moeg

Cho
want die Boer en sy roer word nooit moeg om te ploeg
as hy staan, staan hy sterker as 'n rots
sit jy kettings om sy taal
sal die duiwel jou kom haal
los sy grond, jy speel met 'n bom se lont

Plant jou mielies, teel jou bees
jy hoef geen onheil te vrees
want die Boer en sy roer word nooit moeg

Cho
want die Boer en sy roer word nooit moeg om te ploeg
as hy staan, staan hy sterker as 'n rots
sit jy kettings om sy taal
sal die duiwel jou kom haal
los sy grond, jy speel met 'n bom se lont

Met sy een oog op die weer
en sy hand op sy geweer
word die Boer en sy roer nooit moeg

cho
want die Boer en sy roer word nooit moeg om te ploeg
as hy staan, staan hy sterker as 'n rots

  • i think a White African state should be carved out of Northern Transvaal and Southern Zimbabwe for the establishment of a white homeland...

  • I live in St Louis it has the 3rd highest murder rate in USA at 40 per 100,000 so SA you are not alone with your high rates of murder... that said we dont have outright race motivated murder promoted by our govt... while the ANC is actively promoting race murder with its under-the- radar...

    rememeber ANC and allies say

The struggle continues, the revolution alive and so is its methods

    this war is not over

  • @TomDavid88 where there are boers stubbornness follows closely

  • @francois081 In old flemish slang means Iemand zijn hart roeren also to hit (stir?) somebody 's heart. + read below.

  • Ek is ok een van daai mense wat nie graag Engils wil praat nie hahaha! Ek wonder nou net, van waneer af is roer n geweer?? Boer en sy roer sou ek vertaal na hard working farmer, of busy farmer.Roer het klomp betekenisse bv. roer jou gat, roer die koffie....

  • @TomDavid88 It means gun for sure. I'm Flemish (Dutch) and in old dutch means een roer = a small musket. As you might know is that Afrikaans is quite similar to dutch. Probably they just kept the word for all guns.

  • @Westerner86 cooperation as a thief and his robber or more correct a bull and his butcher

  • Ya, at 3:05 the word "gewehr" (well, that's the German at least, which is all I know), is used, which LITERALLY must mean "gun."

  • I don't speak Afrikaans, but "roer" here seems to mean not "gun" but "determination" or even "stubborness." Right?

  • @ufelcher
