Such a beautiful voice...

Written in 1924 using the text of an ad in the Saturday Evening Post for the benefit of his pals at the Eastman School of Music. From a live concert April 27, 1989, 95th birthday tribute, Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles.
For those of you who missed the experience of being fed it as a child, Castoria looked, smelled and tasted like someone crossed warm Jagermeister with used 10W40 motor oil.
Children cried _from_ Castoria.

When I was 13 my mom treated me with Castoria after I had a loss of appetite for a week and a little nausea. Turned out I had appendicitis, and it wound up rupturing. I was admitted to the hospital with 103+ temp and peritonitis. Good ol Castoria.... for what ails ya...

Wonderful....It never cramps the rats!

Gotta love any song that has the word "bowels" smack in the middle of it. " . . . opens his BOOOWWELLLLSSS . . . " A light, lilting melody about a laxative. Fucking priceless. Let's favorite this one right now, shall we?

He wrote these in the 1920s I believe - he took various newspaper and magazine advertisements and set the ad copy to music.
