THIS IS PUBLIC DOMAIN - An alien (Klaatu) with his mighty robot (Gort) land their spacecraft on Cold War-era Earth just after the end of World War II. They bring an important message to the planet that Klaatu wishes to tell to representatives of all nations. However, communication turns out to be difficult, so, after learning something about the natives, Klaatu decides on an alternative approach.

Even if electricity was "neutralized", things that ran off of chemical energy should still be functional; i.e the motor boat. The cars should also be working as long as they were running before 12:00.

A truly awesome film, but it's unusual how Klaatu has flattened the world out, so it's noon everywhere at the same time! Or perhaps Britain and France are experiencing a very bright and busy 3 am?

a primitive version of trying to hold oneself out to be like the aliens in this film, is a nation always sticking their nose in other nations business(be it wars, natural disasters, humanitarian, run other nations), all it does is piss our neigbor nations off and gets women and children killed in the process-the limelight shows how foolihs and primitive we can be.
