Evolution can crush faith... but faith the goes beond reason is useless.
If you belive somethign you know can be proven false then whats the point...
and if you have to combat it and be afraid of it then that proves you dont have faith in what you belive either..
To have faith you must be daring enught to test it so subject it to the harsh light of reason...
If your to weak to do that then you dont belive your just cowering in fear of having a plesant lie taken away from you...

I agree, Kent Hovind and his kind do end the debate almost as soon as you start to listen to them. After all it only takes a few minuets to realize that they aren't arguing a scientific case at all. They blatantly misrepresent information in a way that would never be acceptable in a scientific paper and their proof by crude analogy hardly stands up when it is flatly contradicted by scientific facts.

They seem to misunderstand the fact that scientists use analogies as tools to aid our understanding of the evidence, not instead of the evidence, or worse, contradicted by the evidence.
As long as the likes of Hovind, Behe, and Lubenow are the nearest thing the creationists have to a scientific arguement, the debate is indeed over before it has begun.
