How do you teach a Quaker a song? I can't imagine it being easy. As a Quaker owner myself, I have tried but with no results. Perhaps the inherent problem lies in me trying to teach Peter Parker aka Petey Pie songs I would like.

I have a Quaker called Che (shay). And when it's his birthday (He's around the same age as Pluto) I want to make him a cake but I need a recipe for cake or a dessert that birds can eat. I'm not sure if you know, but do you know where I can find any recipes. I don't want to make my parrot sick so I need a specific recipe that will be okay with birds.

Awwww I love how he goes YAY!!! after! awwwwwwwww!
Does Pluto "closet talk??"
My Shammie has a special "practice voice" he uses. It's a more quite voice. He's practicing in the "bird room." Then our budgie picks right up on the words the Quaker is learning.

I don't think Pluto is much of a closet talker. He doesn't know how to whisper. Everything is said at the top of his lungs! He does however talk up a storm if he thinks we are not home but he can also do that when we are home. He usually has his big chat sessions in the afternoon and late evenings. It's funny that your budgie picks up the words your Quaker is mumbling. :)

I've gotten a quaker parrot who sings the same song!!! We do have to help him out alittle bit. He always says rub rub when we say rub his little tummy.

Isn't it wonderful that they can learn to interact with what we do and say. :)

Luv it!!
I sing that song to my Quaker, but he doesn't seem to want to sing it with me, but he may decide to sing it with Pluto. LOL

Our secret with Pluto is to get excited, even if he makes a chirp to show his interest in what we are teaching him I tell him he is such a good boy. Then one day he actually says the word and I get so over the moon he nearly falls off his perch. hehehe
