@Browncoat1984 the main differance which is a great differance for the 3ds version over the hd versions is the 3ds version is going to be using the NEW FOX game ENGINE from mgs4 so its not just a port its basically a new game revammped unline the hd version which is just a basic port with hi res textures get the 3ds version you can crouch walk and over the shoulder shoot and so much more not to mention camo with a pic gonna be a blast on the handheld.......
Just recently started playing through the HD version of this game from Metal Gear Solid HD collection. This is my first play through. It'll be interesting to see the differences between the recent HD version and the upcoming 3DS version. While I doubt I'll buy it at launch since I'll have just played through it (and it'll require a $20 extension to the 3DS to work apparently) I'm sure at some point when I can get it cheaper used I'll check it out for comparisons.
