Homemade Cargo/Utility Trailer

A trailer I built with some help from Frank, Lydia, and Kitchy. Its not finished yet and this isnt all the video I have but I can only do 10 min at a time, I may have some more later on after I have the money to get it finished and weatherproofed

@CCSinventions lol, no those are all paint cans, this was taken in the shop at work, we are in the process of trying to standardize more so we dont need to keep so many different colors in stock

No disrespect but, I don't get it. To my thinking you built this inside out. Logic tells me, build a frame first (with 2x4's) then add the skin (plywood sides).

@joe18750 you are right, normally you would build the frame first, but since i was working with full sheets of plywood it was just easier to cut the frame to fit after the ply was in place then to try to build the frame to match the ply. I'll admit for a better carpenter then me that might be a breeze, but honestly I just didn't have the patience on this project. Plus it was a learning experience, I would do things different if I was to build another one

How would you recommend me cutting the plywood for the deck since its 5 feet across? Oh and on your trailer, did you bolted down the 3/4 plywood on your deck? I did'nt see that on your video.

i think the best way to do it would be to cut two pieces five foot long and lay them in sideways, that is assuming there is a way to support them at the joint, if not i guess it wouldnt really matter, how you did it. Yes i did bolt the deck down, my trailer has 5 cross pieces so i used 4 1/4" bolts per rail for a total of 20 plus 4 eye bolts for tiedowns. I didnt have the money to buy them before i put it together so i did that later. I am going to do a walk around vid when it is all done

no i dont, this is the first one i have done, but i would think you could do something very similar, i used 2x4 cut in half for the box frame and covered it with 1/2" plywood and used a sheet of 3/4" plywood for the deck. also its not in the video but i cut a notch out of some 2x4 and made a rail all the way around the top of the trailer to trim it out and to help seal out some water.
