  • have you gottne anything back so far, like a board or your money?!

  • @hamish819 Nope, still waiting

  • Are you saying you duck dived under a mushy wave and that's it, came up and your board was creased? Did you hit sand or anything? Maybe on the wave before, or a week before? Doesn't add up.

I ducked dived a barreling 3 footer got sucked back over and driven into the sand, put my knee though my board and jarred my back. My Firewire snapped in two. I don't blame the board, any other board would have broken in the same position. Wrong place, wrong time that's all.

  • @CoolCovers I just duck dived a mushy pimple and when I came up it was gone. Did not hit anything, that's why I was so pissed. If I had a situation like yours I would not kick up a stink.

  • dammm im glad i didnt buy one. thanks for the info dont think ill be looking into them any time soon ahha

  • @callan2012 That's the reason for this vid. Just want to inform people on the problems with FW. The real story unfolds when you read through the comments. My incident is not an isolated case.

  • Firewire, you need to address this guy's obviously honest complaint. I won't buy any of your boards -- I hit this video because I was looking at your Dominator and Hot Potato -- until TheAngrySurfer says you've addressed his problem.

  • @TheAngrySurfer If FW replaced every broken/damaged board that customers broke/damaged, they'd go bust in no time. A custom PU board with a no-break promise? No such thing. If your new Rusty snapped in 2ft surf, d'you think Mr Preisendorfer's gonna build you a new one, smoke your flesh-flute and throw in a set of fins to show how sorry he is? Nah. There's a sticker on the FW that says in no uncertain terms that the board is not indestructible, and that care must be taken. Even anvils break!

  • I have a 6'0 fishtail, and it's epic. Sweet twin fin. I would highly suggest it, it handles well in all waves under 10 feet

  • Thanks for the warning, was looking at getting one of there boards but not any more. save my money and frustration

  • i've had a 6'0 dominator for over a year. i had a 6'3 JP for a day. surfing's an expensive sport, but saying you're not going to buy a board from them is preposterous. if they replaced every board that snapped they wouldn't be a business, they'd be a charity. get a grip.

  • Unlucky... firewire surfboards are still great m8. I have a firewire board that's 3 years old there have been many times where i thought i was gonna come up with a broken board but it held. There are less pressure dents on my 3 year old firewire then on my 2 month old PU.. Firewire Is the only company that will send you a new board if they didnt make it right.. any other company would tell u to EAT a dick.

  • @bunjben Maurice is probably the best surfboard maker today. He is on the cutting edge of sufrboard design. Go with it and don't look back at this FW crap.
