Thigh straps make it much easier to do whitewater in a S.O.T.
Plus, they kinda look like bondage gear...

There aren't any rocks or anything to hit or scrape on, so my brother's boat was not harmed in anyway during the filming of this scene. Sorry for the tone of my first reply; I simply object to my brother and I being classified as 'tools' just because we're stupid enought to jump off a 16 foot ledge in a sit on top kayak.

HAHA! Dude thats a good way to ruin a boat. You probably rented that boat and then treated it like crap. Thats real great man...

Well, it sure beats the piss out the awesome videos you've posted...

What a bunch of tools...Trying to run the old dam below Thompsons in an Ocean Kayak...LOL
Dang, 1100 views and no ratings. What's up with that? I had to give ya one. That music really sucked though. Almost costed ya a star, but the dog in the lifevest saved ya. LOL. You guys are about as creative as us in Mississippi where there is no real whitewater to be found.

Hey, thanks for the rating. it is kind of odd no one had given it one yet. And, yeah, I imagine whitewater is mighty scarce in Mississippi. It's hard enough to find any around here: you just have to pray to the rain gods and hope some of it ends up in a drainage with some gradient (and my idea of gradient is surely meager compared to that of folks who live in OR, WA, CA, CO, WV, NM, ID, etc...) Finally, I must be the only kayaker in the world that enjoys hardcore metal with my kayaking videos.

Nice video. Do you happen to know what Mason gauge reading was when you ran Hoffman Falls?
I paddled through there in Sept. 2007 at 700cfs and never even noticed the falls and I was looking for 'em. Surely they don't wash out at 700cfs.

Oh, I think it was about 500 cfs, which is a pretty good level to avoid the vast array of granite outcroppings. I have run that falls at about 200 cfs as well. I would be surprised if that washes out at 700, since it looked so nice at 500. You were on the stretch from Castell to CR 103?
