  • I was raised with farm animals & it is common to be quiet & just watch, helping only when necessary. Most animals know exactly what to do & eating what's left over is disgusting but the right thing for them to do. That's the way God made it.

  • Yeah the light was low because it was late at night so we wanted to keep her as calm as possible.

  • how old is mum? and is this her first litter?

  • Natural? chinese crested? naaaa I am there from start till finish. It is natural for the dog to bite to close the cord, but if i do it no hernias, it is natural for the dogs to eat the placenta, but i never allow mine to. It is natural for the Dam to get the pup breathing, but i can do it quicker and more efficiently. Most cresteds WANT their guardian there. it is comforting to the dam. small breeds, more problems can arise. i do not use NP, instead i use white sheets that are bleached.

  • I agree with the other in that the birth should be as natural as possible only helping when absolutely needed. I find so many people get in and help bc of the possible money lost in losing a pup and not being able to sell. Not saying it is your reason but you need to let nature take it's course and only help if absolutely necessary.

  • Why? You're supposed to let the mother do her job. She is in fact a DOG, they know how to give birth on their own without interference.

  • suenell you did the right thing by lowering the lights, otherwise she would have started to get stressed out.

  • it would help if there was more light

  • You can tell the white one is hungry! Sounds so cute!

  • did you keep the puppies? I would love to see them. Pics?
