This is a demonstration of superheating and supercooling. It was made for a college project on thermal physics. The water used is normal mineral water, and the the beer is Corona.
Superheating is achieved by getting a liquid past it's boiling point without actually boiling (until it's desturbed). Note any attempt at this should be taken with extreme caution using appripriate safety measures, as a slight jolt can cause it to erupt violently.
Supercooling is the exact opposite, where a liquid is cooled below its freezing temperature but remains in liquid state (until disturbed).
Just put it in for about 4 hours otherwise it will probably freeze, then tap it on the table.

so you just stick a corona in the freezer adn then after a day or so, take it out and hit it?
