What does the cocoon of the polyphemus look like? I have a cocoon that I believe to be that and it has just begun to start moving inside the cocoon. It is very interesting.
I have a Polyphemus Moth in his/her cocoon right now! I think it'll winter over though. It's cocoon has gotten bigger though, it like, expanded. I'm so excited! Oh, I may be wrong, because I'm not very insect educated, but this moth looks female to me. :P I name my moth Bob!
so THIS is what the hell was on my window a few months ago, I thought I saw a freaky bat due to the lighting xD

@Bloodwar01 the one in the video is a male because of his huge antena, females have slender ones :)

they are so beautiful, i raised one two summers ago and they are absolutely gorgeous. you have a big male there! mine was female :)

Those of you that hate moths should know that they pollinate night blooming flowers. We need them.
Those feathery antennae are characteristic of males.
