    Actually if you do your research on the Toyota robots you would find that they developed a synthetic rubber lips and specialized mouthpieces for the rubber lips that allow them to vibrate at the proper frequencies for the pitches. Also the have inside robots fake lungs that push air through the lips facilitating the vibrations and actually producing said pitches on the horns.

    Hate to spoil the fun in this.. but the robots dont happen to have lips.. or even able to breathe.

    The horns cannot be Technically played. However, the sound can emit from their "mouths" via speaker, which causes it to sound like its being played.
