UPDATE:Bonnie Ruth was adopted Jan 2009by a wonderful Noah's Kingdom Humane Society VOLUNTEER! Bonnie Ruth had been at our shelter for nearly one entire year. When she arrived at the shelter she was timid, scared and shyed away from any human contact due to the fact that we believe she had been abused. After a few months at the shelter and after having Vet care to remove painful bad teeth, she began to be very friendly! She would still swat at you if you made a sudden movement and scared her, but she would be the first cat at the shelter to jump into your lap and ask for attention. She certainly was a volunteer favorite and we are so very pleased to report that a Noah's VOLUNTEER couldn't say no to this sweet cat and didn't want her to stay another day without a real home! We will miss Bonnie Ruth but we are so thrilled that she has a home. We also promise to update you on how she is doing! Thanks to all of you who cared about Bonnie, your thoughts are appreciated!

READ THIS to KNOW THE STORY:
Bonnie Ruth is a very special cat and here is what we know of her life story: She came to our no-kill shelter in Feb 2008 and has been here ever since. She doesnt care for other cats, but I think she is afraid of them and not that she necessarily dislikes them. She is missing her tail and we have no clue as to what could have happened to it. We don't think she was hit by a car or suffered any other type of injury as she can walk just fine. A few weeks ago we brought her to the Vet and she had some bad teeth removed. Otherwise she is a healthy cat who craves attention but only on her terms. Many of us volunteers have been swatted at by Bonnie but not out of meaness, but rather I think out of her feeling scared and insecure. She seeks our attention and an occasional "rub" but otherwise she sits in her cage all day long. In this video we will witness a very special moment CAPTURED ON VIDEO SHOT THROUGH THE WINDOW of the shelter. THE SETUP: all the other cats were in their cages and we let Bonnie Ruth out first. Our volunteer Tim who has been "working" with Bonnie, sat down and to his suprise Bonnie jumped up right next to him! Knowing Bonnies history we were excited and a crowd gathered outside the window to watch as I videotaped. Bonnie seemed to want to jump onto Tim's lap but we never in a million years thought she would do so. Then it happened...Bonnie walked onto Tims lap and sat down and asked for love and attention. Sept. 28th 2008 The moment we all have been waiting for. The moment we hoped would someday happen. Proof that this special cat wants and needs love. Proof that she will make a wonderful pet for someone who will give her a chance to trust on her own terms and timeline. We all love our Bonnie Ruth and hope she finds the right Forever Home really soon. Enjoy wathing this amazing moment in Bonnnie Ruth's development!!!!!

BONNIE RUTH has been sitting on other volunteers laps since we made this video! She is really seeking tons of attention and will make a wonderful cat if given a chance! I really have a feeling that she will get adopted soon. Please keep watching for a happy tail update as I really hope we can post good news about her soon. She has been at the shelter for MONTHS and really, really deserves to find a perfect family!!!
