Apple's MacBook Air is arguably the most elegant portable computer on the market. The MacBook Air is light weight. The MacBook Air is thin. But how does it stack up for practical use. Is the processor speed fast enough? Does the MacBook Air come with enough RAM to be practical? Is the MacBook Air really as light as people claim? Here are some first impressions of the 11.6-inch MacBook Air, along with the best and worst of what Apple's smallest laptop has to offer.

I'm extremely happy that you agree that iPads are in fact computers. The base price for an iPad 2 with the amount of content available for it is a steal for a light weight yet extremely powerful and versatile computer. Nothing is comparable not even that machine in terms of power. At this time that MacBook Air you just reviewed is the same speed as my 5 year old MacBook Pro. So no way am I buying what is essentially the same machine twice, and the amount of available content for iPad is greater.

Nice info,I considered purchasing a mac book air but I don't have a ipod or iphone, itunes, not even an iPad. So i'm afraid "buy one buy them ALL" including the air printer!! I'm happy with my android phone, mismatched computer and laptop for now.. but I knw its time upgrade all! THANKS AGAIN!

" ... thing's GIGANTIC ..." though I agree, I carry around an HP Pavillion dv7 laptop with a 17.6" display wherever I go, even though I have a MacBook Air. I just like power, but oddly enough I use my MacBook Air than my Pavillion beast. Something's not right ...
