I heard Lesley Gore tell how she and Quincy Jones chose this song to record. They had a big pile of tapes of new songs, like 500 of them. So they started to listen to them. This was the first song they listened to. Not sure about it, Jones said, "Let's put this in the 'Maybe Pile." So they did. Then they listened to all the others, and liked absolutely none of them. So they went back to this one, and it became the first hit produced by the great Quincy Jones.
