Vladimir Putin has delivered possibly his final address to the country's political elite ahead of next month's presidential election. The President outlined his view of Russia's long-term development to Russia's top officials at the State Council.

i'm not joking. i even had a long argument with the US history professor and she was convinced that US (literally) won the war. i don't make this up. believe me! although in fact, the second front was opened by mostly US in 1944 when the red army was already in Poland.

Oh its a ridiculous concept. During WW2 from the point of project 'Barbarossa' onwards, 3/4 of the german armed forces were fighting Russia. At some points it was almost 4/5. So the remaining 1/4 or less of Germany's armed forces were fighting Britain and the commonwealth, the USA and other allies at once. Go figure USA.

When US, UK and others landed in Normandy, Soviets were still fighting their last operation in USSR borders. "Operation Bagration". And US had only northern france + small countries Belgium and Nederlands to cross before germany. While Russians had to cross half of europe, and took berlin before western Allies.
