  • @ferency98 I don't buy that argument though that she was only put on the team because she was Russian. By 1992, Kalinina was a shadow of her former self and Stovbchataya was very weak on optional vault and bars (not to mention her compulsories were average whereas Grudneva had stunning compulsories). The gymnasts left after that were unpredictable gymnasts with little international experience like Kozlova, Makhmutova, and Zaitseva. Grudneva was a good choice for this team.

  • it was good but almost in the end she was a little bit short with the music. On the last twist she did it late with the music.

but of course her style its very balletic and gorgeous

  • Probably the most underrated routines of the entire games. Always on toe, full split positions, shoulders always square, just exquisite.

  • The BEST complusory Floor 1992!

  • Such a beautiful style. In my book, she was better on floor than Tatiana Gutsu. I remember reading, that as good as Grudneva was, she was put on the team because she was the only Russian-born gymnast. All the other girls were born in either Uzbekistan, Ukraine, and Belorussia.

  • I love her arms in this routine. Thanks, Dionne.

  • Bar none, this was the finest of all compulsory floor sets in Barcelona. She was the table-setter for the Unified team on floor, and interestingly enough, was their best athlete for this set. She was also, by far the best mover of all of the athletes on the team that year. Her carriage, overall presentation and fluidity were World-Class. Athletes like her are missed in todays day and age.

  • I love this routine. It makes me smile.
