If the police are telling you it is illegal to buy gold then where is the free commerce? i say fuck this country! so, your telling me that if i go to a garage sale and buy a gold ring or necklace i'm going to be fined or jailed? that sounds alot like the soviet union. Fuck california!

You get a brokers license, a gold tester, scale know spot price find out refiner/assayer cost deduct that and average gold spot fluctuation. Make a pro look. Advertise local. Go another lvl deep when you will gain the buying power to make profit for 2 lvls. Find a refiner you know their fees and options test a few with small amounts. The one you trust use. The more traffic the better deal you get. These guys will give you 2% made off your friends. You"ll be able to give more and earn more.
BTW..You dont need a brokers license to buy scrap gold...

What you need in most cities and stats is a Dealers License. In many cities it is a misdemeanor to purchase second hand goods without a license. I would advice you to call your local licensing department and find out the details.

Hello Stephan, Just a question, you mention "Host a gold party, organize the party and put it together" and in return YOU give me 10%....Now why would I do this as I am actually finding the sell, negotiating the sale, packageing the sell, all for !0%??. When I realize I can host my own party, purchase my own gold, send it mfself to a refiner, essentially eliminating the middle man?..and pocket $1800-2200 rather than a minimal $500 bucks?

Don't know about the rest of the country but in California Police Department would like to inform the public that buying gold is against the law unless you're licensed by the California Department of Justice, in addition buyers are required by law to ask for identification from whoever they buy from & maintain a description of the items they're buying. Information is reported to law enforcement.
Just though I would let everyone know, buy gold/silver & pray it doesn't come back to you as Stolen!

In fact most cities and states have such laws and holding requirements. There are many legit business that hold all the correct licenses, and follow the laws and others who don't. Often customers take a risk by going to less than honest buyers for slightly a better price or for cash settlements instead of check settlements. In the end, the customer has to make sure that they are dealing with a legit, credible business who follows these laws.
