Short video of my foundation (120 grit) polish work on my shobu ko-katana. 23.5" nagasa, 8.5" nakago. 1.25" motohaba, 1" sakihaba, .640" sori. Weight right now is 1lb 6oz.. The hamon closely follows that of my shobu tanto. This is the same piece I was forging in the previous videos, only shortened.

  • nice work on the blade.. really well done

  • @jogeba thank you sir!

  • WOW!!! THIS IS AWESOME!!! I can't wait to see what this weapon can do to any poor targets you designate for it once it has a handle and guard.

  • @ryarod It's already polished enough to be pretty sharp. Handles milk jugs and 2ltrs without issue lol.

  • 5/5 great! I take it that you used hybrid? it looks fantastic

  • Thanks!!! Yes it's a hybrid style polish. STILL isn't finished due to some life issues lol...but I'll be getting back to it here shortly!

    nah jk

  • hi mate, well. if your looking for a high quality, your looking at spending a minimum of 1,200 bucks. but if you want something that will work pretty good, you just need a hardened and tempered blade... i guess it really depends on what you plan on doing with it... but heres the link: handmadeswords . com

  • Hi there. Did you use a whetstone to sharpen your blade?

  • do you know where i can buy a folded steel high quality katana ?

    thanks
