Thanks to Paraxade, it is possible to obtain the Volt Driver in the very first segment of Metroid Prime Hunters by using a relatively technical glitch that goes out of the normal boundaries. First you need to start a new game, then get up to Data Shrine 02. Once there, copy what I do in the video and you'll be able to do this.

Note that it's pretty difficult to do, and it is very, very likely that you will NOT get it on your first try.. This is the 4th time I've done it today and as you can see it still took me a few attempts. Don't become impatient! Also, once you get through the wall, jump AS SOON AS POSSIBLE or you will fall to your death. Also, try to

Basically, go into morph ball form and try to use the unmorph animation to go into biped and be pushed through the wall and into the main Data Shrine area. Try to be as exact as possible when directing into the wall and go exactly into where I shoot at the wall, not too much more to the left/right. You're basically trying to go into the part of the wall that just begins to go into a morph ball shaped zone. Sorry if it isn't clear enough, but once you get it it will be pretty simple.

As of now, there is no way out of Data Shrine 02 after doing this. You can obtain the Volt Driver if you have a good sense of geography of that area (I recommend loading a completed file and going into Data Shrine 02 to get an idea of where you'll be navigating) by going into the morph ball tunnel it usually is located, and if you want you can pick up that UA expansion. However, Paraxade and I have yet to find any way to push out of the room or some how return to the hallway. IF YOU FIND A WAY OUT, PLEASE POST A COMMENT ON HOW OR MESSAGE ME!!! Now that SDA accepts out of bound runs, this can definitely lead to a HUGE cut in time for a speed run, and I could definitely see myself getting under 1:16 in such a case. Anybody who finds a way out will receive half credit for this sequence break/glitch as the other half belongs to Paraxade.

Anyways, enjoy this (for now) useless yet fun trick to obtain the Volt Driver before the Battlehammer and before even fighting Kanden. =D If you need help doing the trick, post a comment and I'll try to help as best I can.

Again, Paraxade receives full credit for figuring out how to get into there and reaching DS2 main area in segment one of MPH. Do not take this trick as your own, give credit where it's due.

  • How?

  • Very nice. Too bad there are Battlehammer doors blocking your way out :c

I'm surprised you're still looking for some sequence breaks.

  • I want to get 1:15. =D

  • This seems like a game where you can completely break the games sequence...if only it had as many runners as sm64

  • I'm the only runner for it, kinda pathetic I know. =P
