2009 Virginia Scottish Games

I took these pictures at the 2009 Virginia Scottish Games on 5 September. They include pictures of the caber toss and a sort of Scottish version of a hammer throw as well as photos of bagpipers, dancers, living history reenactors, and classic cars.
I used my Canon EOS 5D Mark II SLR camera with a Canon L-series 24-105mm short zoom lens. I developed the pictures using Adobe Lightroom 2.3 and Adobe Photoshop Elements 7.0. To give some of the pictures a "painterly" look, I employed in PSE7 the Topaz Adjust, Topaz Detail, and Topaz Simplify plug-ins. I also employed Photomatix to create some high dynamic range and pseudo-high dynamic range pictures and Noiseware 2.0 Standard stand-alone to reduce the noise of the pictures.
