Unigine Heaven Benchmark:
API=OpenGL
Shaders=High
Tessellation=Disabled(DX11 Only)
Anisotropy=16
Anti-aliasing=8x
Resolution=1920x1080

System Specs:
CPU: Corei7 920 @ 3.8Ghz
GPU: Nvidia GTX 260
RAM: 6GB DDR3 1600
Notes:
Any lag or quality problems is due to fraps or youtube. OpenGL, DirectX 9, and DirectX 10 all look about equal but DirectX 11 looks amazing because of the tessellations. Currently the only DirectX 11 cards are the expensive ATI 5000 series. Currently they are not worth the money to me because there are not many games that use DirectX 11 yet let alone use tessellations fully.

  • hmm looks like this engine is pretty graphics card heavy, I have an i5 with gts250 and I get about 20 fps. Tested on linux though

  • @LoloftheRings That sounds about right. Remember its a benchmark not a game.

  • @AverageIdiots If it WAS a game, would it be more graphics card heavy? Or would removing the benchmark make it less graphics card heavy?

  • @GeekingForJesus I meant that a benchmark is supposed to put the system under more stress than normal. For a game most of the detail in this is overkill.

  • kinda lame u cant use tesselation since openGL had it for 3 years ^^

  • Tessalation IS NOT "DX11 only" (nothing is, actually. Microsoft's marketing bullcrap ahoy. Damnit so many people fall for it!)

    OpenGL has had Tessalation since 2007. It doesn't work properly with unigine yet and specifically with the crap ATI linux drivers.

  • The best graphics quality and tessellation is in reality.

  • Holy motherfu*ker... It's a God damn miracle my keyboard is still clean...

  • @TheFoxz2 What about now?

  • In general, how many persons do you think have worked in this animation? I am getting into OpenGL world, freshman. I learned about textures, phong shading etc in theory, but I didn't do any code yet. I am afraid to be discouraged if making code is very problematic. I've worked with ActionScript 2.0, it's my previous experience. What would yo tell me?

  • The screen is not our physical eyes, so the depth of view is alittle much. But makes it look big

  • What's your FPS w/o Fraps?

    I know youtube locks most videos at 30 FPS.

  • @AverageIdiots yeah, pretty sure it would put more pressure on it if it was a game. Imagine like, oblivion, suddenly there's physics and NPCs and all other kinds of thingie-majiks and calculations to account for. you'd need some serious muthafuck-comp to run it, lol

  • im a windows guy but im also a game programmer im 14 years old and i've been programmming not games i just started in games by this year and well math necessary and C++ FTW but well i dont care if i use Windows i will always use Opengl becouse i love cross plataform programming and i dont care if directx has a better hardware handling i just know that c++ was made to be portable but directx takes out that filosophy from C++ !

  • @LoloftheRings also the gts 250 is quite an old card now were talking bout 2 to 3 years, still good tho but this is a fairly new engine as is designed to be used on newer cards

  • @TheFoxz2 search for videos about tesselation on you amazing opengl and tell me if you found something like THIS kind of tessellation you mister opengl
