READ ME! This is a video response I made to all the people trying to make "revolutions" and trying to leave YouTube. First off, nobody is going anywhere (at least the majority of us). People are gonna be on YouTube and YouTube is gonna remain the most popular site, for now at least.

However, in this video I suggest a lot of good video alternatives to YouTube, which are:

http://vids.myspace.com/
http://www.metacafe.com
http://www.livevideo.com
http://www.revver.com
http://www.archive.org
http://www.veoh.com
http://www.kaltura.com/
http://www.vimeo.com/

Add me on all those sites if you have an account there.

MetaCafe: http://www.metacafe.com/channels/ForFun808/

LiveVideo: http://www.livevideo.com/ForFun808

Revver: http://revver.com/u/ForFun808/

I think YouTube NEEDS competition because without other video site competition YouTube will have no motivation to improve itself, and if there is strong competition, YouTube will have to advocate for change.

Renetto also said YouTube "Picks and chooses its stars out of the pile, and puts them on top". And I agree, thats 100% true. Ever notice that the same users get featured over and over again? And these users aren't even partners!

There are MANY users out there who make great videos and don't get any features. Some are even discriminated against like James the AVGN. He has 95,000 subscribers, but is not partner!? But the Irate Gamer does the same thing as AVGN, but he made partner with a lot less subscribers. (They have even removed some of AVGN's videos).

Anyway I suggest NOT relying on YouTube for all your videos only. Upload your videos on other sites and see what happens! Revver featured me three times and I have a FAN BASE on MySpace TV. So try it!

Lastly, as for leaving YouTube. If you hate YouTube, then you can always leave . Nobody is forcing anyone to stay here, we are not in shackles and we have the free will to make our own choices. With that being said, the door is always open, and at that point, we are free to walk out, and leave...

  • Have you tried Dailymotion? That's another good alternative to YouTube, or you can try Vidder as well. At least they aren't money-hungry bastards like YouTube is now.

  • I never really tried those sites.. is it good?

  • whats wrong with competition it will make for better sites and more options! also youtube has many restrictions we need a totally unedited site that allows anything except for illegal stuff! you tube shows gyno visits uncesored but no nudity???? does that make sense also they remove videos if someone flags it wether or not it is bad! and free speech itsn always allowed!

  • You obviously never paid attention to the video... fail

  • go kill yourself lil bitch!

  • lol, Myspace.

  • dailymotion is good

  • I understand why people have such a problem with youtube, but it really doesn't bother me. Youtube is so big it only makes sense it would act like a large corporation. Just life as far as I'm conscerned.

  • @karuk7575 avgn can be a partner, he just doesn't try to get one

  • revver and livevideo didn't work

  • revver is closed?

  • Love the commentary on competition, and you're pretty much spot-on. O wait, LOL, you have a bachelor's in business *bonks own head* of course you know that. Anyway, that sort of stuff always gets my attention; I'm an Econ student currently myself. ^.^

  • @shadydawg555 blip.tv forever!

  • 2 you didnt mention *But this was made in 2008* is Dailymotion and Blip.tv

Honestly, I think Blip.tv is the BEST alternative!
