John E. Rimmasch, WRC CEO, sits down at the Cheyenne Botanical Gardens for a friendly conversation with Steve Lee who recently retired from the Union Pacific Steam program earlier this year. With the historic ex-Union Pacific No. 1242 nearby, John and Steve talk a little bit about the history of that locomotive, as well as a few memories of sister locomotive No. 1243.

I only know Steve Lee sporadically through various TV shows and videos about steam locomotives or UP's steam program and the occational YT clip. But he seems like a very great person and I hope he'll keep steamin. Two thumbs up.

Steve Lee is a class act all the way.  I am only 28 years old but I admire him and all he has done for Steam operation and preservation. I met him for the first time 4 days ago at the Cheyenne Frontier Days. He didn't have a clue who I was, but was friendly and cordial.
