At risk for hair loss? Will Propecia work? Should you stay on Propecia? Genetic Hair Loss Testing and Finasteride/Propecia Response Testing can assess your chances based on your genetic makeup. Non-invasive, painless genetic testing for hair loss and propecia response takes less than five minutes to perform in your doctor's office using a simple cheek-swab. Genetic testing (for men and women) as well as 'finasteride response' testing is available at Bauman Medical Group in Boca Raton FL. http://www.baumanmedical.com

  • It doesn't matter what you do. I'm a non drinking, non smoking, vegetarian yet I went bald at 21. I tried everything; green tea, saw palmetto, ginseng, vitamins, minerals...

If baldness is in your genes, your fucked. I'm getting a vasectomy so I don't pass down these genes to my future children. There ARE other reasons I'm doing this, but, yes, baldness is one of them. I've got a few other genetic issues too. I don't want my future kids to worry about that shit. Life's hard enough as it is.

  • @WTF1920 It may have seemed like you tried "everything," but what you missed was getting a medical evaluation from a doctor who is a specialist in the field of Hair Restoration and starting a proven medical regimen at the early stage. All hope is not lost, you can still start an fda-approved treatment if you choose.

  • ...not used to short hair, it sucks, I feel colder in winter and hotter in summer (I use a number 2, if I let it grow a huge baldspot shows and it's horrible), girls don't look at me that same way, and the ones that do are rare and many of them tend to be older (I'm only 23, I don't want to just have sex with 30 year olds!)...

It's extremely depressing for me and I'm sure it's probably more so than someone who always had short hair...

  • I had the most beautiful long blond hair (almost reaching waist, and yes I'm a guy) and it made look extremely attractive, there was "no limit" to me for the girls or even older women I could get, I started to lose my hair a few months before turning 20 in 2008, by late 2008 I had a huge bald spot on my crown and the rest of my hair was so thin that it looked ridiculous...

I waited a year after that and by nov. 2009 I had cut it short and found out I had a receding hair line too, I'm still...

  • Any update on Noah from this interview? I'd love to know.

  • @WutangClan4LiF3 Actually, yes. Thinning at the top (frontal and vertex/crown) of the scalp and full, thick hair at the sides and back of the scalp is the typical hereditary "male pattern." That is the condition that we most commonly treat. The most important thing you can do is start a regimen of medical treatment to protect the hair you have. Without treatment, the condition will certainly get worse. Sincerely, Dr. Bauman

  • @alanbauman i m 22 years old and im thinning most of On vertex and in frontal zone but i m thin a lot all over my UP scalp Not sides and back. Is it possible to have diffuse thining just Up not in back hair or sides?

  • Does propecia work on receding hairlines?
