with 200cc more it's not a big acheivment, altho they are both nice bikes.

I'd assume to keep the price down and because it's a V4 with little power compared to the original motors 250ish hp they might have thought it pointless.

the 1098 R makes a ridiculous amount of low end torque, and I believe even more so than the desmo.
