There are so many foams that you must contact the supplier of the foam to see if it can be cut with a hot wire, and if it can you must ask if there are any health or safety hazards when cutting their foam with hot wire tools. If this is the green Styrofoam, then yes it can be cut safely with our Hot Knife.

Would cutting upholstry foam with a hot knife give off any toxic fumes?
DDofCourage 6 months ago
@DDofCourage Yes. You should always check with the manufacturer of the foam you are cutting to be sure there are no health or safety hazards when cutting their foam with hot wire tools. We recommend that the polyurethane foams (aka upholstery foams) only be cut with a blade or saw.
