The thing with truly intellegent machines is that they will most likely have the ability to learn. Imagine a computer that did nothing but study. at first learning simple things, like addition, then algebra, then calculus, and sudenly you have a computer with a complete understanding of EVERYTHING! It would be easy for a computer of that level to wreak havoc on an epic level... Its not computers we "program" to be smart we should fear, its the ones we teach how to get smart...

it's so important for regular people to learn to do things for themselves....like growing food.....we've come so far from what (i believe) we are meant for....and we continue to let our military do things like create computerized war machines......what ever the end (of humanity) will be...we can best spend our time doing what we are meant for.....love.

i dont think that machines will ever take over. reason being is that we are the ones who create them. we PROGRAM them to do certain jobs, and it will not do a job that it is not programmed to do. and machines are basically humans but with all the info that humans know into one thing so the knowledge of a computer is just that of a human because a human cannot program a computer to do something if he does not know it.
