looked like you could play, but was a bit darker on the other side. league didnt want to take a chance and have a player or fan get hurt by a puck that was hard to see comin at them.

If you guys want a better look at how dark it was, go to the NHL's youtube channel (NHLVideo) and search for "Lightning @ Devils 1/8/10"

They could probably have played, as people could see pretty well, but it was definitely a bit too dark.
