Here in Washington Dc I have the same issues this is the sigh of an oversold network like when I had my overdrive pro 4g I heard everything on the phone and I was getting 1.10Mbs on 4G I know Wimax isn't fast compared to lte but this is stupid and Verizon has many more users and still gives 1.5 Mbs on Evdo Rev a all day

i just bought an evo 4g and i am in a 3g area. data speed is so slow im taking this back. i love the phone, but the network is so slow on 3g its unuseable. I switched from at&t to sprint for the unlimited data but unlimited data is useless if you cant use it. 4g is super fast but only in large cities. At&t was sooooooo much faster. im going back.
The only way to tell if ur on 3G vs 1X n it saying 3G is to go into the menu as I believe I showed in this video.

I have this phone still and sadly am only 3 months into 2 yr contract with Sprint. Replying from the phone now over their so called 3G which is really 1X....But I can go certain places not far from me and get decent 4G if I stay in one place (4G is new in my area) and I get up to 1,000KB/s download speeds with 2 to 3 bars out of 4 bars of 4G. If Sprint's whole network was 4G, it would be awesome...

@o0janet0o92 The Phone itself is really Awesome...It's just if you live in a 1X area which A LOT of Sprint's Network still is....The Internet is Really Really Slow...You Need AT LEAST 3G for Watching YouTube, I can "SOMETIMES" get away with listening to Pandora over 1X during the middle of the night when they're ain't much traffic on the network, and it don't buffer and load too much...But I am just getting lucky is all, Sprint told me their goal is to have all their Network area 4G by end of

@o0janet0o92 this year, and I heard it a couple different ways from a few reps in Sprint Kiosks and Sprint Customer Service people...I am hoping this is true...Cause I caught 4G once, and YouTube loading without a hiccup, it was great! If the whole network was 4G, would be great..But then again soon as you roam, bye bye 3G/4G and Hello 1X Data Again...I Roam around where I live (A LOT) but full Sprint Signal on my porch and a lot of bars inside except the basement..But 2-4 miles away I'm Roaming
