Hi Leslie ONeill here with Scuba Explorers.
Another commonly asked question: Scuba Diving in Kansas City?
Many people are surprised to discover that scuba instruction
is available right here in Kansas City- Yes, I teach everywhere in town..
North of the river, Kansas City, Lee's Summit, Overland Park, Olathe and many other cities.
People actually drive from Wichita, St Louis & Chicago to take my classes.
The first day we only need 4'of water, so any backyard pool, YMCA or
Country Club is all that's necessary. The second day we use a 10-12' pool
and of course an indoor pool in the cooler months.
Once the two day course is completed...we go for the open water certification. For certification we dive in any calm water lake, quarry,
spring or ocean. I prefer certifying students in a local lake as it gives them more training in limited visibility and more preparation prior to their 1st
ocean dive. Once trained in these coditions- any ocean with variable visibility limits will be totally comfortable.
When asked- why don't you live on one of the coasts - there's no place around here to dive. I remind them- we have airplanes in Kansas City too!
No matter where I teach we still fly south where the water is crystal clear blue--bath water warm-- gorgeous white sand and palm trees!
My favorite places to scuba are more remote not yet inhabited by tourists.
We go where the coral reefs are healthy and thriving with incredible, colorful marine life!
Bring 7 friends and I'll bring the weekend course to you. Ready to dive?
Let's go!
Informative and delightful. I trust this lady.
