Demonstrating a ride through the country side with the baby python. I took my 15 month old son with me in of a child carrier - he likes it really and he's "whooping" while rolling fast downhill or in curves. The camera is simply strapped to the carrier and gives an over the shoulder look.

It is not a very exiting video, but demonstrates that the very special python recumbent is useful for everyday use. I'll try the same thing in Town, should give more interesting action.

More info about the python?

  • Hi!

I wanted to ask you about how fast can you ride with your python without it getting unstable? My python gets unstable in speed over 35km/h , i have pivot angle of 70 degree

  • @raftmant my current max is 66kmh - faster would be no prob. To Town I reach a typical speed between 50 and 60km/h(depending on wind).

A max of 35km/h is really slow. Are you just beginning to learn riding it? About the pivot angle: 70degrees is to high an angle, and sure to make riding the python more of an art.

For speeds above 50 you'll want handlebars. At these speeds steering feel light (slight steering adjustments have large effect) and handlebars give more precision than feet steer.

  • Nice video! The best ones always have part of the rider and part of the road always in view. I don't know who has more fun, you or your son! (smile) What is your camera, and how did you edit?

    Thanks for the ride

  • Thanks!

The camera is just a simple camcorder (canon MV930). I know near to nothing about the camera or filming in general; I just strapped it onto my burley and switched it on. Used Windows Movie Maker to cut out the long stretches, and I should have cut more out.

  • @pedalbug Hi , got video ready about python and have no problems anymore about the unstability but still havent catch 50 km/h (max 47 km/h)

  • @pedalbug

Hi riding a python feels comfortable now, but the only problem is that blood doesnt reach to legs while going uphills. Another huge problem are dogs, who are chaseing me while riding, maybe its becuse of my safety flag.

Despite this, it is very nice bike to ride around, especially overtaking the professional riders on normal bikes :)

  • @raftmant mine is called "räige püss python" google to see some pictures

  • Lovely film, where was this filmed (country?)

  • I was wondering what type of bike you were riding from seeing your ride into town. It looks like the drive wheel is the front. Very interesting. Both of my daughters started in a trailer as infants.
