I don't think people realize how truly amazing it is that the Model S is as cheap as it is.

Look at the 2013 Ford Focus electric for example... it's only $10,000 cheaper, looks like shit, has 1/4 the electric range of the Tesla, nowhere near as much room, is far less luxurious, and has way less cool features. Not to mention that the performance isn't even in the same ballpark as the Tesla.

Wouldn't you rather pay the extra $10k for a car that's 100x better? GM and Fords' attempts are pathetic.

I actually got a 2012 ford focus with everything x___x....I am seriously considering trading it in for a Model S if they get power stations in Florida.

The parts they use for the interior are from Mercedes Benz, the huge 17in screen is not necessary for the basic model. That' s a good 10K+ in the interior alone.

The Model S is truly a groundbreaking car in every design aspect. Also, for those complaining about the price (why can't it be $30k) here is Tesla's business plan in a nutshell:

    1.Build sports car

2.Use that money to build an affordable car (Model S)

3.Use that money to build an even more affordable car ($30K car)

A - the prototype is much more attractive than the released version (breaks my heart)

B - most people wouldn't buy a house under power lines or near a transformer station. Now you have everyone sitting on huge batteries with massive amounts of electric magnetic fields. I wonder how that will affect health in the long run? (especially when Toyota warns Prius owners not to seat anyone pregnant on the rear passenger seat, as the battery is under the seat.

C - I love this car and the vision of this company but these two critiques I find are too large to overlook.
