On the IMBD movie message board for this movie, a man that knew the actual family portrayed here speaks of them. The husband never left his wife for a minute.
He speaks of not amputating her leg to stop the the bone cancer from spreading. She said she'd be 1/2 a woman and it would spread anyway.
He went on to raise the baby well.. This man (forget his name) said that John Denver met Lynn (Jacquelyn)and she had basiclly written "Sunshine On My Shoulders" and should have gotten credit for it.

I just watched the 1973 movie Sunshine last night on youtube....anyone who enjoys this Cliff DeYoung version of My Sweet Lady, must see the movie.... had not seen it since I was a kid, and searched for the movie for years. He performs this song, and other John Denver classics in the movie, it's a tear jerker.

I love John Denver, who wrote and recorded this, but I love this simple, vulnerable version better..

my gosh thios is giving me goose bumps... its been decades since i last hear this and sung
Few songs are as moving as this one. I was only 15 years old when this broke my heart. Two years ago while I was decorating my brand new granddaughter's special tree I was listening to this.I can never hear it again without recalling that tree and the tiny pink ornaments and hearing, "Who's going to clean the toilet?!" Outstanding -- all the way around. I have a normal family tree, too, but this song and Leah's tree are forever joined/entwined. I swear to her our time has just begun.
