@highcountry74 honestly a shotgun kicks worse than most rifles i have ever shot especialy the magnum rounds for ducks and turkeys. I agree recoil isnt as bad as what is made out to be in most cases.

@disneyland1980 LOL yea i hear ya on that alot of recoil its a beast, i just went n bought a 91/30 n the safety is a bitch
-
@gearwrench666 yeah. the 91/30 and m44 have the same bolt
-

because there pussys.these rifles dont kick no more than a 30-30.grow up people and stop whining about a rifle kicking.if you cant handle the kick dont shoot.leave the shooting to the big boys and play with your toys
-
i dont mean to insult anybody but i dont understand how people think this gun kicks...i have a 91/30 with no modifications whatsoever (not even a turned down bolt) and i shoot both the full metal jackets and soft points and i feel nothing at all....im not a big guy- five foot eleven and i weigh 130 lbs yet people much larger than me whine about the recoil....why?
-
Ohh cool,
Why do you use the cocking ring when you can just cock it with the bolt? Just don't eject a round.

you dont cock the bolt with it. Its for turning the saftey on and off.

wow i would love to have one of those for my m44, it hurts my fingers so bad tryin to put that on saftey, not to mention trying to do it quietly, i got a standing bet with a buddie of mine who has a lee enfield, whoever gets a deer with there ww2 era rifle first get there tag paid for by the other person, i already shook on it so i gotta figure somthin out

I have seen a mod that cuts the spring down to reduce the tension. I have not used it. I keep hoping that someone will come up with an aftermarket spring with a lighter pull but still enough to make the firing pin work
