I've watched a few more of _______'s videos and found one where his wife talks about 2 times where ________ pulled his gun. Neither time was a shot fired. Both times the person on the other end reacted to a gun being pointed at them. This is my point. A round in the chamber, an empty chamber, or an airsoft gun would have caused those 2 people to react exactly the same way they did.

I have also pointed a gun at a gang member that was threatening my life and pulling a Raven .25 pistol out of his pocket. I pulled my 1911, racked the slide and hit the gang member in the center of his chest with the muzzle. He let go of his gun, threatened me some more before him and his 2 friends walked off. Again, a shot was not fired and I did have time to chamber a round.

Depending on the agency, we know that between 700,000 and 3,000,000 times a year, a citizen defends themselves with a firearm. That does not mean they shoot the gun. In fact, they almost always have no need or reason to shoot because once they pull it out, the attacker runs away or submits. This means that almost every single time a gun is pulled it would have been just as effective if it were completely unloaded. DO NOT CARRY UNLOADED, but I don't think it's idiotic to carry with an empty chamber.

Between me and other people I know personally, I am aware of several instances where guns were pulled for supposed self defense or crime prevention. In only 1 of those cases was a shot fired and in that case, the shooter that was trying to claim self defense was found to be not acting in self defense and was later arrested for the shooting. Had the gun just been pulled, the shooter's story might have held up, the cops would not have been called. The point again being that most of the time the gun is not fired. When it is, your judgement at the time will be repeatedly questioned so you had damn well be sure that you are only shooting because your life is in immediate danger and not because you're angry or want to be a hero with a self defense story to tell. That would be a criminal act, not supported by any law abiding gun owner, and you'll deserve the prison time.

Remember, you don't carry a gun to be cool, to look cool, or to look like a bad ass. People that use guns to intimidate others are cowards. Junior Rambos get themselves in trouble and make a bad name for all gun owners.

  • dude ur vids are cool and you make alot of sence

  • @hopecamel I appreciate that bud.

  • i agree but but you know as well as i do every could not follow through they think they can but if put in that positision they may freeze . heaven help em

  • @bgpull Yeah, some people may freeze up. Fear can be pretty powerful but if it has come to the point where you need to pull a gun or you're going to die, I guess pulling and possibly scaring off the attacker is better than having nothing at all to do except stand there and be murdered or raped.

  • an agressive thug is not gone back down there gonna make you use it or take it from you if you pull it so be ready to do or die hard core thugs have guns pointed at them before if not shot or shot at or shot someone themselves i know people who have taken guns from others who thought just showing it would save them it doesnt work all the time so be ready to use it and thats realality dont pull it it you not gone use it cause that can get you killed

  • @bgpull I don't worry about needing a gun very much. I have a little pocket pistol in case I need it, which I doubt I will ever have a need for it, but if I do I have it.

If I was ever in a situation where I had to pull my gun on some1 & they tried to take it from me, well that would be a big mistake on their part because I wouldn't hesitate to shoot a nut case that was actually trying to take away a gun that I was pointing at them. Letting them have it would be a mistake I would not make.

  • @esh325 I agree that if U need to pull and shoot as fast as U can that a chambered round will make it a faster point and shoot by a fraction of a second. The odds of it needing to happen that way to save your life though are so astronomically rare that I just don't bother with it. That is ok for my situation today. Years ago, I lived in a bad neighborhood. Half the houses on the block were boarded up & abandoned, etc. I carried chambered every day while living there because the risk was greater.

  • @esh325 I don't store my guns with chambered rounds, so when I rarely grab this Glock, I just grab it how it was in the safe. Loaded mag with an empty chamber. Most of the time I carry an NAA mini .22 revolver in a pocket holster that also has my Ipod in the same pocket. Some people are uncomfortable with loaded guns. I'm not, I just don't take the time to chamber or unload when I put it up. I started carrying 20 years ago and have carried +1 for years. Cont...
